The Wellesley Country Park, Akatarawa, is located on 40 acres bordering a sparkling river just 45 minutes by road from Wellington. Set amongst native bush with breath-taking views of the majestic river valley and its towering bush clad hills, our Akatarawa camp is indeed one of Wellington's best kept secrets.

Akatarawa means 'hanging vines'. From the intimate river glades by the dining room, to the awesome views from Arawhata on the hill above, the ambience of the Akatarawa camp truly invigorates the senses and is a tonic, restoring the body, the mind and the soul.

The Wellesley Country Park offers catering, accommodation and indoor and outdoor recreational facilities for a wide variety of individuals and groups:
